Permaculture

In Maitreya, we use the holistic and interdisciplinary design approach of Permaculture to bring together our communal vision with the necessities of the land. With a view to the future generations, the essence of Permaculture is the establishment of a “permanent culture”, based on the model and functionality of nature. As a response to the challenging site conditions (widely eroded and degraded soil, loss of diversity, extreme weather situations), a Permaculture design has been developed which turns the supposed problems into solutions. It follows three core strategies: the facilitation of soil formation, effective water retention and a general diversification.
